HOLLYWOOD GLAM

Marco Polo Davao welcomed 2012 with a night of music, fashion, and dancing.

The hotel's annual New Year parties have always added excitement to our firecracker-free city, and these events are largely attended by prominent personalities and guests in Mindanao.

For this party, dubbed as “Hollywood Glam,” we recreated the iconic and opulent styles of the world’s film capital.

The layout I made for our poster is highlighted by a collage of Hollywood icons superimposed with an image of sexy actress, Marilyn Monroe.

We dressed up the Marco Polo as a majestic movie theater, with large scale illustrations of movie legends, city landmarks, and clips and posters of the most celebrated films.

The walls simulated a trip down memory lane, with life size portraits of Hollywood royalties.

Guests danced on our own version of the Walk of Fame, which was our inspiration for the dance floor.

It was a celebration made for the stars, complete with paparazzi and dance tunes by Manila's Route 70 band and Davao's talented DJ Gary.

The event turned out a success and we'd like to thank everyone who helped us in putting the whole plan together.

Patty and my 2 artists, Jess and Fernan, have done a good job in helping me execute the design I made for the ballroom. Good job, team! Noel Tanza's decors added finesse and elegance to our setup.

Moi a.k.a working girl. My peg for that night: Grace under pressure. Or so I tried. The dress is now one of my favorites.
The newly pronounced Mrs. Patty Basa-Tan with her husband, Michael.

Patty and I made sure we'd get our turn with the photographer shortly after the countdown.

I also salute Ms. Tina Uy and Allan Hioca for their leadership, patience, determination, and creativity.
Girls in full force. Here with Ms. Tina Uy and my little Tatiana.
Til the next New Year party. :)

Thanks, Farrah! This is one of my favorite party frocks. Too bad I didn't get to meet you at the party.
